UnitingCare and Target are teaming together for the 18th UnitingCare Christmas Appeal and need your help to spread Christmas cheer to vulnerable people in your local community.
You can make a difference simply by heading to your nearest Target or Target Country store from now until Wednesday 23 December and buying an extra gift for someone less fortunate.
UnitingCare Christmas Trees are located at the entrance of every store, just select a gift tag to either buy or make a gift or purchase a gift voucher on your way through the check out. $10 and $20 gift vouchers are also available at www.target.com.au/giftcards.
UnitingCare will then allocate each gift to people in need. All gifts purchased are given to people in the local community in which they were purchased.
As the practical arm of the Uniting Church and leading provider of not-for-profit welfare community services, UnitingCare NSW.ACT is experiencing firsthand the impact of the financial crisis on children, young people, families and older people.
Services include aged care and disability programs, services for vulnerable families, children and young people and quality early childhood education and care.
Over the last 17 years the UnitingCare Christmas Appeal has 1.6million gifts to vulnerable people. It is hoped 150,000 gifts will be donated in 2009 as a result of the Appeal.
